Sound Recordist Mixers / Recorders
Sound Recordist Microphones
This is a Digital Shotgun that allows me to suppress and reduce as much background noise as possible on location.
Built for Indoor environments with a smooth roll of polar pattern, great for capturing one or more subjects.
Sennheiser 416ph Shotgun Mic
This is the Industry Shotgun Mic for tough climates and wind/rain/humidity. This will always be in my kit as a backup.
4x DPA 4071 - Radio Microphones
These are built to be hidden, very useful trait in films and commercials that I do. Sounds more natural than other hidden mics.
3x Black Sanken Cos-11D Radio Microphones
Cos-11s are great as clip-on tie mics and for quieter dialogue scenes. These are used on shows like Breaking Bad.
2x White Sanken Cos-11D Radio Microphones
Most microphones you see are standard black but this can sometimes be an issue with thin costumes or white shirts and so I also have two Cos-11s in white.
Audio Technica AT871UG Boundary Microphone
These can be placed on flat surfaces to help collect group chats around tables. You typically see them in conference rooms attached to a phone.
Aquarian Audio H2a Hydrophone
Hydrophones are microphones that are built to record underwater. I've used this on several projects including freediving in Finland.
Sennheiser E840 Handheld Mic
This is a dynamic microphone great for isolating vocals and typically used by musicians at gigs or news presenters out in the field, this is required cabling to a mixer/camera.
Sound Recordist Wireless Packs
2x Lectrosonics SMDB
These are digital hybrid wireless radio mics with great range and limiters for many different applications. The D means Double, the 2AA batteries can run for 11 Hours.
2x Lectrosonics SMB
These are single battery versions of the SMDB and last for 4 hours and are easier to hide on talent.
5x Sennheiser EW112-p G3
These are great wireless packs for when there are more than 4 talent needing wires. They can also be used as additional comms units and links to camera.
2x Lectrosonics IFB1RA Comms Packs
These are perfect for director and script supervisor to listen to the performances being captured while they watch the monitor. Being able to envision the final film is key to better direction.
Sound Recordist Dessert (Other Goodies)

These are as big as a 9V battery and perfect for delivering timecode to any camera with timecode/audio inputs.
