Frequency Perceived Loudness

Equal-Loudness Level Display based on ISO 226 standard

1000 Hz
0 dB
.
What This Means: We don't hear all frequencies at the same perceived loudness. 1kHz (1000Hz) is the base for the level loudness measuring. If you see a negative number then it's lower than 1KHz frequency and if positive then it's perceived louder.

Every 3dB is a noticeable drop in level and 10dB is a doubling of either quieter or louder depending on if the value is positive or negative.
